The short version

The workday is carrying a lot.

Work can give people structure, connection, and purpose. It can also pile on too much noise, pressure, and uncertainty. These figures do not diagnose anyone or explain every workplace. They put reliable numbers around a feeling plenty of people already know: work can be a lot.

Read the numbers carefully

Useful context, not a shortcut.

Some figures here are U.S.-specific and others are global. They also measure different things: a recent day of stress, a recent month of work stress, workplace harm, engagement, or broad health estimates. The date and context under each number matter.
